It's Looking A Lot Like Christmas

Because I've been out of a job the past couple of weeks, I have had the opportunity to pick up some holiday work with my roomie decorating the houses of the wealthy for Christmas. They say rich people only get richer, and apparently busy rich people only get busier...and richer. So, they hire the un-wealthy [aka: me] to pull out their boxes of expensive Christmas decorations and to put them out in their house according to their exact specifications.

We're talking money here. $3500 Christmas trees. $100 price tags on ornaments. My head starts spinning just thinking about it. But it is fascinating, as these wealthy families allow us in their homes for a day or two, to see where they live and how they live. To hear what kinds of things they talk about. It's all very behind-the-scenes, and I have thoroughly enjoyed observing. And seeing that, rich or poor, people are people.

The work has been great. I look at pretty things and decorate pretty things and try not to break the pretty things. My back hurts and my feet are sore by the end of the day. Feels like I'm actually working. I love it.

It's a sweet little season! Getting me in the holiday spirit.

Still praying for what God has next for me...
