If you love food so much, why don't you marry it?

Friday night is Family Valentine's Dinner! We've put together a rich, and may I say, exquisite menu. We're foregoing exclusive Valentine's with our hunnies to come together and celebrate the love and friendship God has blessed us with.

I've been bargain hunting for weeks now to keep the price per person as low as possible. And yes, if you must know, there may be an Excel spreadsheet or two involved...

This dinner project has helped launch me into the world of Weekly Ads and couponing that my mom and dear friend LAS know so well. I've taken a crack at it, and I thought I'd share a few of the deals I found and our menu for the night.

Appetizers:
Cheese
Crackers
Wine

Publix: 2 / $4 Kraft Premium Cheese Blocks

Entree:
Filet Mignon
Grilled Asparagus
Au Gratin Potatoes with Chedder and Romano
Spinach Madeline
French Bread

Harris Teeter: $11.99 / lb Filet Mignon
Kroger: $1.97 / lb Asparagus
Kroger: $3.24 5 lb bag potatoes
Kroger: 2 / $3 French Bread

Dessert:
Cheesecake
Chocolate Raspberry Sauce
Coffee

Kroger: $0.99 / each Philadelphia Cream Cheese
Kroger: $2.24 Raspberry Preserves
Sav-a-lot: $0.99 12 oz. bag Chocolate Chips

Not only is my mouth watering right now, but I'm realizing just how rich dinner really is. Which means more yoga, less blogging... If you want a recipe, let me know!
